Cabinteely will look to continue their fine away record so far this season when they travel to face Wexford on Friday.

The South Dublin side have already collected maximum points on the road in fixtures against Shelbourne, Drogheda United and Cobh Ramblers.

Wexford ended a two-match losing run last week by earning a 1-1 draw away to Limerick.

Management Team View

After going top of the table for a 24-hour period last week on the back of three wins in a row, Cabinteely Director of Football Pat Devlin is refusing to get carried away, and like he viewed in pre-season, is taking the one-game at a time approach.

“Our record against Wexford is obviously not very good. We have huge respect for Wexford. They are always tough to play against. I’m sure we will have another tough game.”

While enjoying the moment of going top, he stressed “I’m long enough in this game to know that you don’t win league championships after the first phase of matches. We have a lot of work to do. We have to keep our feet firmly on the ground. We have a big test on Friday. Let’s see how we get on with that. We just have to concentrate on each game.”

Player View

Defender Conor Keeley has scored in the last two meetings between the clubs, but he is expecting nothing easy at Ferrycarrig Park.

“It’s always a difficult place to go. We’ve never gone down there and had an easy game. We’ve prepared well this week because we know it’s going to be a tough game. We’re looking forward to it.”

He continued “If we can get the win, it would be a great way to finish off the first series of games. That would keep us in second place. There’s the potential for other results to go our way too. We just have to keep going.”
