New Zealand Coach Announces Strong Squad for Confederations Cup and Cabinteely Friendly

New Zealand All Whites Head Coach, Anthony Hudson, has announced a strong 23 man squad for the Confederations Cup and the friendlies against Cabinteely FC, Northern Ireland and Belarus next month.

The squad is a mix of players with experience in Leagues in England, France, Germany, Netherlands, Greece, USA, Canada, Australia as well as New Zealand based clubs who play in the A League.

Included in the squad are Sunderland’s Samuel Brotherton, Chris Wood of Leeds Utd as well as the Ipswich Town pair of Monty Patterson and Tommy Smith.

The only notable absentee is West Ham’s Winston Reid who has had to withdraw because of a knee injury. The squad will now be skippered by Chris Wood.

The All Whites play friendlies against Northern Ireland in Belfast on Friday next, 2nd June, Cabinteely, in Stradbrook, on Tuesday 6th June and Belarus on Monday 12th June before heading to Russia for the Confederations Cup where they are grouped with the hosts as well as Mexico and Portugal.

The Cabinteely friendly will Kick Off in Stradbrook at 7pm on 6th June and tickets for individuals and families are available through here.
