Speaking on the appointment Devlin said “I am delighted to have three very experienced staff in place, both John Paul and Paul have been coaches in Cabinteely for a long time, while Garry has bags of experience having worked at a number of clubs and with myself at Bray Wanderers.”

Academy Manager David Foley commented “I look forward to working with the U19 management team put in place and welcome Garry to the club. The U19 National League plays an important part in our Academy structure, being the final step to help prepare players for first team football.”

The U19 National League season kicks off on March 10th 2017.

The 17s lost 3-1 against Waterford, with Alex Connolly scoring Cabo’s goal. This is his second goal this season having also scored against Salthill & Devon recently.

The 19s lost 2-0 against Cobh Ramblers in Cork. This weekend sees the 17’s take on Mervue United at 2 o’clock at home and the 19s take on Wexford Youths away.

Cabinteely F.C. have teamed up with The Dublin School of Grinds to offer free Leaving Certificate grinds for our League of Ireland Under 19s Team.

As part of our player pathway, we at Cabinteely F.C. believe that education is a crucial part in the development of young players.

The team’s training schedule will reflect this with players studying and attending grinds on Mondays and Wednesdays, training on Tuesdays and Thursdays and playing matches on Saturdays.

This study/training/play balance will give young players the opportunity to achieve their true potential, not only on the pitch, but also help them to achieve their academic goals.
