Our League of Ireland Under 17s have had a very successful week with two great results moving them up to second in the league.
On Monday night, Hugh Colhoun’s side made the short trip to the Carlisle Grounds to play local rivals Bray Wanderers. Cabo won 6-0 in a thoroughly impressive performance. Ryan Byrne scored a hat trick, Jordan Andre bagged a brace coming off the bench and Adam Breach Brophy also got himself on the scoresheet.
On Sunday, the 17s took on Wexford Youths at Stradbrook. Cabo dominated throughout with a number of brilliant chances, they ran out 1-0 winners thanks to a first half goal from Simon Power. Credit to the Wexford Youths goalkeeper Adam Dunbar who put in a man of the match displaying, making a number of brilliant saves to keep the score at 1-0. Cabo now sit second in the table, both Cabo and UCD are joint on points but Cabo go second due to their superior goal difference. The 17s take on UCD next in a crucial game. Cabo travel to UCD this Sunday, kick off at 2pm.
Our seniors are at Stradbrook this Friday night, they take on promotion chasing Finn Harps. There was huge drama at Stradbrook the last time the sides met when John McKeown scored in the 96th minute to draw the sides level!
